About the K-Bob Cafe
The K-Bob Cafe has been a part of downtown Princeton and the Tou family since 1961. Prior to that time it was known as the K-Bob Soda Grill and was owned by Kay and Bob Hobert.
The first major change came in 1971 with a complete remodeling. Then, in 1984, the seating capacity was expanded from 78 to 240 with the purchase of Sanborn's Cafe adjoining to the south.
Erik and Marge Tou were the first owners. Marge says they were able to survive the first years with child labor (their own children), Erik's job as a railway postal clerk and the help of her parents, Jay and Eva Walker. Present owners are Steve & Teri Tou and Al & Cathy Tou - with Steve being the manager.
The K-Bob Cafe is open from 5am to 2pm every day. Guests who are present for more than one meal a day are a testimony to the attractiveness of the menu, the variety of homemade meals and desserts, and the friendly service.
Our banquet room has seating for 80 guests and may be reserved for large or small groups. This room is a gathering place for business meetings - including the Princeton Lions Club and Rotary Club - and has been used for graduation parties, reunions, wedding receptions and birthday parties. We also have a private meeting space for smaller groups.
Many out-of-town guests have become a part of the K-Bob family as they visit weekly en route to lake homes in the north.
